Yay Pixie, theres gonna be loads of us on it, can't wait!

Jonathan... its a Ryan Air flight out of Birmingham. Just stick Birmingham to Trieste on 1st July into the ryanair site and its the only one that day. 6:30am is crap, but I imagine most people will arrive on the last train and take over the airport until morning :D

Ah right! Sounds like a mini adventure! We got a metaltaxi from venice last year, but they went to the wrong venice airport and we were waiting there for around 4 hours...mind you, it wasn't so bad with an airport bar! But waiting was shite...got to MC around 12am...pitched tents in pitch black...brutal!

We used Metaltaxis from Trieste last year and it worked out fine - guys were waiting for us when we arrived, and apart from a bit of confusion over who was actually meant to be getting the taxi, (couple of people hadn't actually booked a taxi but thought they could get in anyway) everything was sweet.
Nutter driver mind!
That said, if other ways are cheaper and more reliable/enjoyable, I'd be interested.

And another thought... these taxis are on a metre. Think it went up to 105 euro or something but he said it was fine to pay the 100 he quoted, so we gave him 110 to be nice...

Oh, and our mates that booked a metal taxi and were on the same flight arrived about 2 hours after us... their taxi didn't turn up until an hour an half after we landed...

Yep, flew into Trieste totally blind last year with no forward planning at all. Huge line of white cabs outside. Went up to one, guy didn't speak a word of English. Said Tolmin in Slovenia. He said ok. Asked how much and made a money gesture, he said 100 euro. Drove us right to the gate of the festival by following the signs, and let us go through his CD collection and pick what we wanted on during the drive, anded up going through the mountains signing along to Bon Jovi with an Italian guy that had no idea what the words meant. Was ace. :)

Alrighty, a few questions though...

Did you fly to Trieste last year? Did yer man know where Tolmin was? and just basic/general wonderings like that...I'd just be a bit hesitant over banking on something like that and possibly missing time or whatever...but then metaltaxi aren;t replying to e-mails anyways!

Hmm, Well theres 2 of us. So that's it... 6 seater all the way!

Also I reckon we forget the metal taxi on the way there. 30 euro a person, so for 6 people it will be 180 euro. Last year we jumped in a regular taxi outside the airport and it was 100 euro to the festival. Good plan?
