Metal Camp Community

Hi we are flying out from Stansted to Ljuublijana on Sunday the 10th July.  Just wondering if anyone else is on that flight we flying with easy jet.

This is the first time we have flown to metal camp last time we drove so hopefully there is some people we can tag along with so we get on the correct train.

Also does any one know roughly how much taxi should be,  and also how to arrange one.

Hey  - i think that is the flight we are on. There's 3 of us, and if there's a few more on the plane it should make for a fun flight out !! :)

We'll be on that flight too, there's a group of 5 of us (so far). We should be able to get a train from Kranj to Most na Soci with about an hours wait in Jesenice for 8,49 euros.

It's going to be VERY tight between getting off the plane and getting the train, though. We got a taxi last year which cost 140 euros between 4... and that's the cheapest going rate! I guess if the flight gets delayed again we can join up and get some minibus type taxis to keep the costs down as much as we can.

That could be a good idea Paul.

Maybe if there's quite a few of us on the plane we could try for some minibus type skills.

From your message i see you've been before so hopefully we can pick your brains for a bit of local knowledge :)

hay that sounds like a plan for a mini bus type thing, there is four of us going, guess it just depends on getting a mini bus big enough for all of us plus kit.

we drove over last year and the car was full to  bursting guess we got to try cut our kit down this time.

Indeed - i'm struggling to work out how i'm gonna fit my tent in my rucksack lol. And then leave enough space for some clothes.... :)
Get a pop up tent and tie to the outside of your back pack... remember that things do not have to be in it to count... just tie boots - tent - sleeping rolls etc to the outside :)

Thanks Carrie, that sounds like a great idea. However, wouldnt that cause a problem when they pack it in the baggage on the plane (stuff would get ripped off of the outside of the bag?)

no they are use to it.. i had all sorts strapped to the outside of mine when I flew out from water bottles to boots and billy cans for cooking.. :0 )
another option is to have one carry all the camping stuff in their backpack and then use theirs to load in the clothes etc.. but you can strap things on the outside .... Good value silver gaffer tape will become your essential thing to take.. strap it on and tape it down :0

Thanks Carrie. Sounds like a winner!! :)

Where ya coming from in the UK / ??
We're coming from sunny Northampton :)  What about you?
